[TITLE:Banter Clash Leaves Two Militants Dead as Police Conduct Counter-Terrorism Operations in Bannu]
BANNU: Two terrorists sustained injuries during a confrontation with security forces in the Shadev area of Huwaid on Wednesday, according to official sources.
The incident erupted when a group of militants opened fire on a police patrol conducting a search and strike operation, prompting an exchange of gunfire between the two sides.
Following the clash, law enforcement agencies apprehended one of the assailants while fleeing companions managed to escape with their wounded associates. A Kalashnikov rifle was recovered from the scene and handed over to investigators.
Evidence collected at the location, including bloodstains and expended cartridge casings, confirmed that the terrorist group suffered casualties during the confrontation.
In response, the police intensified their search operations across the region, with multiple raid locations being monitored to track down the remaining suspects.
Bannu District Police Officer Mohammad Furqan Bilal lauded the bravery of security personnel and announced a cash reward for the officers involved in the successful operation, praising their swift response in countering the terrorist threat.
In a separate development, a dispute resolution council concluded a longstanding land dispute involving 30 kanals of agricultural land. The case, which had been pending for several years, involved conflicting claims between Mohammad Zahoor of Domail and a group of claimants led by Umar Ayaz, Rehmanullah, and Mirdad Khan of Baikkhel.
The council facilitated reconciliation between the parties and delivered a verdict that addressed the interests of all stakeholders, bringing a peaceful resolution to the protracted legal matter.
