2026 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix: Key Details and Broadcast Guide

Formula 1 heads to Hungary this weekend for the last race on the calendar before the annual three-week summer break.

After three races without tasting victory, Andrea Kimi Antonelli returned to the top step of the podium last time out at Spa-Francorchamps, having beaten Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen to the checkered flag for a sixth win of the season.

The Mercedes youngster now holds a 45-point lead in the championship heading into round 11.

George Russell, who entered the Spa weekend second in the standings with only 25 points separating him from his teammate Antonelli, suffered a blow in his title charge after a collision with Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari on the opening lap sent him off into the gravel and out of the race.

The scoreless outing dropped Russell down to third place in the standings, leaving him with a 50-point gap to the leader.

Meanwhile Hamilton continued the race and was hit with a five-second time penalty for causing the collision, eventually finishing in fourth.

The result moved the seven-time champion up to second place in the standings, 45 points behind Antonelli and only five points ahead of Russell.

Heading to Hungary, Antonelli eyes a back-to-back victory to run away with his lead before the summer break, while Russell, Hamilton and Leclerc – who have each grabbed a win recently – will be pushing hard to shrink the gap in the championship before it gets too difficult to catch up.

The 11th round of the season at Hungaroring in Hungary kicks off with Free Practice 1 (FP1) on Friday, July 24, at 1:30 p.m. local time (CEST), followed by Free Practice 2 (FP2) later in the day at 5 p.m.

On July 25, drivers will climb into their cars for the final practice run (FP3) at 12:30 p.m. before they battle for grid positions in qualifying at 4 p.m.

The 70-lap race will get underway at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 26.
