The National Hockey League announced the schedule scenarios for the upcoming Stanley Cup playoff conference finals on Thursday. The Eastern Conference final is set to commence on either Tuesday, May 19, or Thursday, May 21, contingent on the duration of the second-round series between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens. Consequently, the Carolina Hurricanes will experience a break of 10 or 12 days following their Game 4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, before Game 1 of the third round. Meanwhile, the Western Conference final will kick off on Wednesday, May 20, featuring the Colorado Avalanche against the victor of the series between the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks. In the United States, TNT, truTV, and HBO Max will broadcast the Eastern Conference final, while ESPN will provide coverage for the Western Conference final. Canadian viewers can watch all games on Sportsnet and French-language channel TVA Sports, with CBC scheduled to air all but one game of the Eastern Conference final.
