San Francisco 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo sustained a pectoral muscle tear approximately one month ago during weightlifting sessions, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed.
Shanahan indicated that Guerendo is progressing well and could be available for action by the conclusion of training camp.
To address depth concerns in the backfield, the 49ers signed running backs Jordan Mims and Jermar Jefferson on Thursday.
Guerendo’s injury history includes previous issues with hamstring, groin, foot sprain, ankle, and shoulder complications since being selected in the fourth round in 2024.
During the 2025 season, he has not yet appeared on an offensive snap but has contributed 173 special teams plays across 14 games.
