A 54‑year‑old man died early Sunday in Yuen Long after losing control of an electric bike and falling from a goods‑unloading platform. The incident, which occurred around 4 a.m., was not discovered until more than five hours later.
Police were alerted at 9:21 a.m. to a man lying unconscious on Tong Yan San Tsuen Road. Officers found the victim, identified as Mr Lam, with injuries to his head and hand and pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to authorities, Lam was traveling eastbound on an electric mobility device when he veered near the loading platform, causing the bike to tumble over a 1.25‑metre (4.1‑foot) drop.
Images circulating online show the vehicle involved was a black electric bike.
The New Territories North traffic investigation team is handling the case. Anyone with information or who witnessed the accident is asked to contact police at 3661 3800.
