True Spec Golf, a leading brand‑agnostic club fitting firm launched in 2014, unveiled on Tuesday a new collaboration with the Arizona State University Sun Devil men’s golf program for the 2026‑27 season.
Under the agreement, the Sun Devils will receive True Spec’s complete suite of custom fitting services — including regular loft and lie adjustments, gap analysis, and regripping — plus a notable NIL contribution that will directly benefit participating student‑athletes.
“Scottsdale is our home, and we answered the call from Sun Devil Nation to offer support,” said Scott Anderson, president of True Spec Golf, in a press release. “As a Valley‑based company, we take great pride in channeling our resources into the ASU golf program, effectively becoming an extension of the team.”
The 2026‑27 Sun Devil roster consists of nine players, five of whom sit inside the top 60 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Golfweek places the squad second in its preseason NCAA men’s golf poll, while Golf Channel ranks them fourth.
“We’re deeply grateful to True Spec Golf for stepping up to support our program with top‑tier club fittings and a generous NIL contribution,” said ASU men’s golf head coach Matt Thurmond in the release. “Although we’re an elite program with a storied history, the competition grows each year, making this investment from a local partner like True Spec invaluable — not only for today’s athletes but also for attracting future talent.”
Since its inception in 2014, True Spec Golf has offered golfers an objective way to choose equipment that improves their performance. During each fitting session, players compare their current clubs with the latest technology to find the optimal set, irrespective of brand. A master fitter walks them through the process, analyzes the data, and recommends customized gear that helps each golfer reach their fullest potential — whether they want to tweak a single club or rebuild the whole bag.
