Jury Deadlock in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Prompts Judge’s Appeal for Continued Deliberations

Jurors in the trial of Lindsay Clancy have deadlocked after three days of deliberations, but the judge has urged them to continue.

Clancy, a Massachusetts resident, faces murder charges for the deaths of her three children in 2023.

While her lawyer does not dispute that the 36-year-old former nurse killed the children, she argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was unable to distinguish right from wrong at the time.

Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, with the prosecution alleging she made a calculated, intentional decision to kill them.

The jury, composed of nine women and three men, began deliberating last week following weeks of testimony from dozens of witnesses.

On Tuesday, audible gasps were heard in the courtroom after Judge William Sullivan read a note from the jury indicating it was deadlocked.

Clancy, who was left paralyzed after jumping from a second-floor window following the killings, appeared stoic as she sat in a wheelchair beside her lawyer.
