Soybeans climbed steadily on Tuesday, with futures rising 21 to 29 3/4 cents by the close. The national average Cash Bean price reached $12.62 1/4, up 11 ¾ cents. Soymeal futures advanced $1.80 to $7.40, while Soy Oil gained 116 points to 187. No delivery notices were filed for September soybean contracts, alongside 52 deliveries for September meal futures.
The previous day saw the EPA granting 18 small refinery exemptions for 2025, alongside 11 partial exemptions and the denial of three applications. The total exempt volume reached 1.76 billion RINs, with all remaining capacity allocated to 2026 and 2027 Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs).
USDA subsequently announced a private export sale of 136,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 marketing year.
Monday’s NASS Crop Progress report indicated a 2% decline in overall condition ratings to 58% good-to-excellent. The Brugler500 Index dropped 4 points to 353, with notable deterioration in Illinois (-1%), Kansas (-17%), Kentucky (-15%), Louisiana/Minnesota (-12%), Mississippi (-5%), South Dakota (-2%), while Wisconsin improved by 6%. Partial recovery was observed in Indiana (+5%), Michigan/Nebraska/Ohio (+2%), Missouri/North Dakota (+4%), and Tennessee (+1%).
July soybean crush data revealed a total of 221.9 million bushels processed, exceeding market expectations by 1.89% over June and surpassing the previous year’s volume by 8.16%. Soybean oil inventories stood at 1.963 billion pounds, reflecting a 6.4% decrease from June and a 4.73% increase year-over-year.
StoneX forecasts the Brazilian soybean crop at 183.5 million metric tons, revised upward by 0.4 MMT from the prior estimate.
September 26 Soybeans closed at $13.06 3/4, up 31 1/2 cents. Nearby Cash prices reached $12.62 1/4, rising 11 3/4 cents. November 26 Soybeans concluded at $13.17 3/4, up 29 3/4 cents. January 27 Soybeans finished at $13.32 3/4, up 29 1/2 cents.
