Veteran Linebacker Kyle Van Noy Signs with Vikings Practice Squad

Kyle Van Noy remains with the Minnesota Vikings organization, officially joining their practice squad. The experienced linebacker has inked a deal with the team, as reported by NFL insider Tom Pelissero of ESPN.

This move reunites Van Noy with defensive coordinator Brian Flores, with whom he developed a strong professional relationship during their four-year tenure together in New England. During that period, they contributed to two Super Bowl championships. Van Noy previously collaborated with Flores in 2020 when the latter served as head coach for the Miami Dolphins, signing Van Noy as a key defensive addition.

The 35-year-old defensive stalwart is entering his fourth season since departing the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent three years post-trade from the New York Giants. In his career, Van Noy has participated in 173 NFL games, starting 115 of them, and recorded 57.0 career sacks. Drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, he brings extensive experience to Minnesota’s defensive scheme.

Van Noy’s familiarity with Flores’ defensive system positions him as a potential mentor for younger players in the Vikings’ secondary.
