Brighton have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Femi Azeez in a £12.5 million deal, which includes add‑on clauses that could push the total value beyond £15 million.
Azeez joins Brighton on a four‑year contract, moving to the Amex Stadium as the club’s 11th summer acquisition. The deal also follows Brighton’s record £45 million signing of Tottenham centre‑back Luka Vuskovic earlier in the window.
The 25‑year‑old netted 11 goals and recorded eight assists in 37 league appearances for Millwall last season, earning a spot in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
Azeez had been eager to move to the Premier League, prompting Brighton to submit at least three separate bids that were initially rejected by Millwall.
His transfer represents a new club record sale for Millwall.
Brighton confirmed that a deal sheet was submitted before Tuesday’s 23:00 BST deadline, with the clubs finalising the agreement shortly after the extended 01:00 BST deadline on Wednesday.
Azeez joined Millwall from Reading for an initial £1 million in 2024 and leaves the Den with two years remaining on his contract.
On deadline day, Brighton also signed Spanish defensive midfielder Chema Andrés from Stuttgart for a fee of £15.5 million.
The 21‑year‑old signed a five‑year contract after the Seagulls agreed a fee with the Bundesliga club, officially joining on deadline day.
The Spain Under‑21 international made 41 appearances for Stuttgart last season after moving from Real Madrid in 2025.
Andrés progressed through Real Madrid’s youth academy before making his La Liga debut in January 2025.
During his single season with Stuttgart, he helped the club secure Champions League qualification.
Brighton bolstered their finances through several player sales, most notably the £70 million transfer of Carlos Baleba to Manchester United.
