Starz has dropped the official trailer for the S.W.A.T. spinoff, Exiles, ahead of its September 25 premiere.
Shemar Moore steps back into the role of LAPD S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, a man driven by a relentless pursuit of redemption.
S.W.A.T. Exiles centers on Moore’s Hondo, who has dedicated his career to proving that discipline and loyalty are forged, not innate. However, a failed raid that results in the death of young operator Nico Reyes forces him out of the only life he has ever known. His former commanding officer, Robert Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit), offers a final chance at redemption: establishing an entirely new S.W.A.T. unit composed of Los Angeles’ most overlooked talent.
The resulting squad defies all expectations: Sammy Bishop (Lucy Barrett), a gun-show influencer eager to prove herself; Ethan Cole (Freddy Miyares), a socially awkward tactical genius; Cassidy Reed (Zyra Gorecki), a guarded operative determined to secure her standing; Jude Callan (Ronen Rubinstein), a volatile wildcard with a complicated history; and Malik Anderson (Adain Bradley), an ambitious sharp shooter concealing more than he reveals. United under Hondo’s leadership, they form the Exiles—a team theoretically destined to fail, yet fiercely determined to prove otherwise.
As the team confronts Los Angeles’ most dangerous threats—including cartel assassins, arms smugglers, and a city teetering on the brink—Hondo uncovers a deeply troubling pattern: a mole within his own unit is leaking intelligence to external forces. What initially seems like paranoia gradually reveals a chilling truth: S.W.A.T. is being systematically sabotaged by someone with the power to dismantle it, aiming to replace it with a private, highly controllable, and entirely unaccountable force.
Torn between safeguarding his team, uncovering the truth, and evading those who seek to erase him, Hondo must navigate a dangerous labyrinth of shifting alliances and tested loyalties. As the stakes escalate, he is forced to decide how far he will go and whom he can truly trust. By the season’s conclusion, Hondo and the Exiles face a definitive reckoning that will shape not only their futures but the very existence of S.W.A.T. itself.
