White House Arcade Games Spark Outrage Over Immigration Themes

The White House has launched five politically-charged arcade titles inspired by retro classics, drawing widespread criticism online.

The Flappy Bird-inspired Flappy Bill lets players “fly a bald eagle down the National Mall,” while point-and-click Trump Saving Tycoon involves saving money for children’s “Trump Accounts.” The game Supply Line tasks players with stopping unhealthy foods from being served to kids at lunchtime.

Other titles include Build The Wall, a Tetris-style game encouraging players to “protect the border from the coming horde,” and Rio Run, a Snake-inspired game where users “patrol the line along the river [and] picking up every crosser in the lot.” A sixth game is planned for release soon.

“This administration is laser focused on ways to innovate and tell the story of the President’s many accomplishments in a way that resonates with every American,” a White House official told The Washington Examiner. “This is an effort to further contrast between a culture of fun and winning and the dark socialist vision Democrats have for America.”

However, the launch has been widely condemned on social media.

“This is a truly despicable moment in American history,” wrote one X user. “If this doesn’t make you ashamed of this nation, you are a broken piece of shit,” added another, calling the games “tone deaf” and “shamefully propaganda-laden.”

One Reddit user criticized the games as “neither fun nor well-designed,” suggesting they appeared hastily created, while others dismissed them as poorly executed political messaging. The White House has also promoted its new arcade with trailers parodying Xbox, Sega, and Nintendo’s GameCube, prompting calls for legal action from gaming companies.

Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company rebuked the White House for sharing a “Make America Great Again” Pokopia meme, stating its mission is to “bring the world together” and is not affiliated with any political agenda. Last year, the company also objected to the White House using ICE arrest footage set to Pokémon’s ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ theme.

The White House has faced additional scrutiny for a video juxtaposing Iran conflict footage with Call Of Duty clips, which critics labeled “terrifying.” Despite backlash, spokesperson Abigail Jackson asserted the administration will continue using gaming memes to communicate its agenda, citing alignment with pop culture platforms like Halo, Pokémon, and The Lord of the Rings. “Our message resonates,” she claimed, “and we will reach people where they are.”
