Newcastle United sporting director Ross Wilson has provided an update on the club’s summer transfer window.
Wilson stated that the club was content to sanction Anthony Gordon’s move to Barcelona.
He did, however, acknowledge that the sale of Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal was a transaction the club found uncomfortable.

Despite the departures, Newcastle have begun the season reasonably well, having made several shrewd additions to the squad.
Supporters appear more hopeful than in recent weeks, particularly with Matthias Jaissle’s appointment as successor to Eddie Howe.
Bruno Guimarães Looks Set to Be an Excellent Arsenal Signing
While losing Guimarães was a setback, as Wilson noted, Arsenal supporters will welcome the Brazilian’s arrival at the Emirates.
Guimarães established himself as a quality performer at Newcastle, and his experience and winning mentality are precisely what Arsenal required to sustain their progress under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal claimed the Premier League title last season but fell to PSG in the Champions League final on penalties, indicating areas where further improvement is possible.
Guimarães was among several midfielders to move in the transfer window, but in an inflated market he represents what appears to be a very reasonable acquisition for Arsenal.
Newcastle can also be satisfied with the deal, having secured a substantial fee for a player in the latter stages of his career.
