Here are the hints, clues, and answer for today’s Wordle, along with bot analysis.
It is the 25th anniversary of 9/11 today. It is remarkable to consider how much the world has transformed over the past two and a half decades. I was in college when the attacks occurred, marking the end of an era and a loss of innocence. The hopeful spirit of the 1990s collided with a new political reality. Just a few years later, the advent of the iPhone arguably had an equally profound impact on our world.
Additionally, today is 2XP Friday for Competitive Wordle players, so let’s get straight to the puzzle. Double your points, good or bad, and let’s solve today’s Wordle!
Today’s Wordle Hints & Clues
Now that the bonus custom Wordle is out of the way, let’s focus on the official Wordle.
- Wordle Bot’s Starting Word: SLATE
- My Starting Word Today: CHORE (257 words left)
- The Hint: A daisy-like flower. Think of stars.
- The Clue: This Wordle begins with a vowel.
If you need the answer or want to see how I compared to the Wordle Bot, check the analysis below.

Today’s Wordle Etymology
“Aster” derives from the Greek “astēr,” meaning “star.” The flower was named for its star-shaped blossoms. This ancient root also appears in words like “astronomy,” “asteroid,” and “astral.”
Today’s Wordle Bot Analysis
Here is the Wordle Bot analysis of my guessing game.
CHORE left me with 257 words and two yellow boxes, but SPEAR eliminated most of those, leaving just four. I ultimately guessed LASER and ASTER. I had considered TASER, but I was thinking of a flower rather than a weapon. I also overlooked ASKER, as it is rarely used. I chose LASER despite having used it before, and I was glad I did.

Wordle Bot: 10 points
