The Portuguese icon may soon be reunited with key teammate Kingsley Coman, whose recovery from injury offers a timely boost to Al Nassr’s attacking options.

Al Nassr head to face Al Khaleej on Saturday for Matchday 7 of the Saudi Pro League. Manager Ange Postecoglou is likely to rotate players and manage game time carefully, particularly for marquee names like Ronaldo, with eyes firmly fixed on Tuesday, September 15 — the date of the club’s opening continental fixture against Al Ain.

A key figure to watch before that crucial tie is Coman, who picked up an injury during the recent clash with Al Ittihad. Early assessments offered encouragement, with MRI scans revealing the French international sustained only a minor hamstring strain.

Saudi media outlet Arriyadiyah reports that Al Nassr’s medical team is considering clearing Coman for the AFC Champions League Elite opener versus Al Ain. Although continuing his rehabilitation within the club’s training base, he remains sidelined for Saturday’s domestic encounter against Al Khaleej.

The onset of the 2026-27 season has been a challenging period for Coman, who has yet to find the net or register an assist across his first six outings for Al Nassr.
