Durham have consistently outshone their opponents in Division Two, securing their Championship promotion following a commanding win against Middlesex.

Last season, the north‑east team endured a devastating batting collapse at Headingley on the final day, which demoted them back to Division Two after two years in the top tier. Since then, they have operated with unwavering determination to erase that painful setback.

David Bedingham led the scoring charts with 1,029 runs before departing mid‑season to prepare for South Africa’s Test series with Australia next month.
