Two men have been sentenced to prison for the violent burglary of Manchester City’s Italy international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his pregnant partner at their Paris residence during their time with Paris Saint‑Germain.
On the night of 21 July 2023, four masked intruders breached the ninth‑floor apartment on the exclusive Avenue Montaigne, striking Donnarumma with hard‑knuckle gloves until blood spurted and later choking his fiancée Alessia Elefante with a phone charging cable. The assault ended with the kidnapped couple bound together and the thieves leaving through the rooftops clutching cash, jewelry, watches and luxury goods valued at just under €1 million.

Ilyas Kherbouch, 21, identified as the mastermind of the invasion, was sentenced to nine years in prison and ordered to pay a fine of €80,000 by the Paris Criminal Court.
Co‑defendant Moktar D received a five‑year term, with two years served under a supervised probation regime.
Khyan M, suspected of directing the robbery from his prison cell, was acquitted after thorough investigation.
The 27‑year‑old Donnarumma—who joined Manchester City in 2025—was playing for PSG at the time, moving from a luxury setting on Avenue Montaigne that July.
Prosecutors reported that the targeted burglary aimed at high‑profile individuals in a newly emerging network of young criminals operating in Paris’s prestigious district.
Defendants were charged with requesting prison terms ranging from four to ten years, with the harshest sentence originally set for Kherbouch seeking ten years.
Although Kherbouch publicly apologised to the police officers he insulted and addressed the courtroom, investigators recovered messages and digital evidence linking him to the crime while incarcerated, yet he continues to deny any involvement.
Moktar D, the only offender present at the scene, claimed he acted only as a lookout stationed on a neighbouring rooftop, asserting no operational role beyond that.
His former childhood companion, also implicated as an informant, surrendered himself to authorities and later took his own life in prison.
