On Friday, Lola Young released a new track titled “From Down Here,” marking her first single since the release of her acclaimed album *I’m Only F**king Myself*. She performed the song live for the first time on Saturday at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Herrington Country Park.
The English singer co-wrote “From Down Here” with James Blake, alongside his collaborators Jameela Jamil and Dominic Maker of Mount Kimbie, all of whom co-produced the track on Blake’s 2023 album *Trying Times*. Blake also appeared at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, taking the stage immediately after Young’s set. She joined him for a performance of “Make Something Up” from the same album, and Blake additionally performed his cover of The Verve’s “The Drugs Don’t Work,” which he recently debuted on the *Live Lounge*.
