Looking for a glimpse of upcoming cinema? The Toronto International Film Festival offers an excellent starting point. Each year TIFF showcases a diverse slate of global films, many of which later become major box‑office successes or awards contenders—as evidenced by the 2025 lineup, which featured titles such as Hamnet and Obsession.
Covering TIFF single‑handedly is a daunting task, so I aim to view as many titles as possible and then publish concise daily reviews. For the 2026 festival, I’ll be highlighting anticipated films such as Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, and an extensive Elon Musk documentary, along with select streaming series including Crystal Lake and Carrie.
