The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Rest of India squad for the 2026 Irani Cup, appointing Rishabh Pant as captain and wicketkeeper for the five-day match against Jammu and Kashmir, the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy champions.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar from October 1 to 5. The fixture will mark a major milestone for Jammu and Kashmir following their maiden Ranji Trophy triumph last season.
Pant’s selection gives the Rest of India side a seasoned international presence. Sarfaraz Khan has been named vice-captain, while wicketkeeper-batter Aryan Juyal offers an additional keeping option.
The batting lineup also includes Sanat Sangwan, Shikhar Mohan, Sudip Gharami, Smaran Ravichandran and Saransh Jain. The bowling attack features India internationals Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, alongside Mukesh Choudhary and Manav Suthar.
All-rounders Anukul Roy, Aryan Pandey and Ayush Doseja have also been included, providing the team management with greater flexibility while selecting the playing XI.
