Xbox Game Pass September 2026 Update Highlights Gears of War: E-Day and Minecraft Dungeons 2

September’s Xbox Game Pass lineup brings several notable titles later this month and into early October.

Here are all the games Xbox is adding to Game Pass in September.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds 

Dragons have reclaimed the forgotten realm of Ashenfall, forcing players to endure a perilous new wilderness. Gather resources, forge gear, construct a shelter, and hone your abilities while exploring the continent and uncovering the mysteries of the Dragon Queen.

Kernel Hearts

Dune: Awakening 

Set on the unforgiving desert planet Arrakis, Dune: Awakening merges survival systems with open‑world exploration and RPG depth. Harvest resources, establish a base, craft equipment, and piece together a cinematic narrative while striving to endure one of the galaxy’s most hostile environments.

Well Dweller

This dark fairy‑tale adventure casts you as Glimmer, a petite bird equipped only with a matchstick. Journey through a troubled realm, encounter its peculiar residents, confront perilous foes, and traverse an expansive Metroidvania‑style world in a quest to rescue Glimmer’s family from a malevolent queen.

Mad King Redemption 

This 2.5D beat ’em up fuses classic arcade fighting with roguelite progression, ensuring every run feels fresh. Battle waves of corrupted foes, develop your character, and strive to liberate the Mad King from his deepening madness.

Minecraft Dungeons 2

This sequel ventures beyond the familiar Minecraft universe into the enigmatic Sift. Join forces with friends to confront new adversaries, explore uncharted locales, and gather customizable gear tailored to your playstyle as you gear up for escalating challenges.

Gears of War: E-Day

Set fourteen years prior to the original Gears of War, this prequel tracks Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the Locust Horde’s inaugural assault. The campaign delves into the origins of the conflict that shaped the franchise, placing players at the forefront of humanity’s struggle for survival.

Games leaving Game Pass soon

While Microsoft is adding those games to different Game Pass tiers, the company is removing eight others on Sept. 30. You still have time to play these games for the first time, or finish your campaign, before you have to buy them separately, but you should hurry.
