Nicki Minaj Dismisses Critics Amid Her Vocal Support for Donald Trump

Nicki Minaj has stood by her endorsement of President Donald Trump.

Over the past year, the artist has emerged as a prominent supporter of the US Republican Party, recently appearing on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle to discuss her collaboration with the Trump administration.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with this administration and President Trump,” she stated. “He has inspired countless individuals, myself included. And he’s… he’s entertaining.”

“He is more than just intelligent, and he is more than just the president,” she continued. “He is also someone I can relate to. Every time I see him, or see him speaking to others, he is simply himself. He is very… very grounded. It is easy to connect with him. It is easy to feel that he heard you and understands you. And I just… I just love him. I will never make excuses for that.”

Host Laura Ingraham then asked Nicki if she had any response for those criticizing her work with the sitting US President.

“Absolutely nothing,” she replied swiftly. “I see no reason to.”

In December, Minaj made a surprise appearance at a Turning Point USA event, where she conversed with Erika Kirk, the widow of the late political commentator Charlie Kirk. During the event, she expressed “respect and admiration” for the “handsome, dashing” Trump and criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Following the backlash to her appearance, she deactivated her Instagram account and faced multiple petitions calling for her deportation from the US, a nation she relocated to from Trinidad at the age of five.

She has since engaged in UK politics, aligning with Azealia Banks to support Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch in May.

Also in May, she commended Elon Musk, thanking the controversial billionaire for “everything you’re doing for humanity” during a SpaceX rocket launch that was ultimately cancelled.
