Rubio Engages Bolivian President Paz on Economic Stability and Security Cooperation

Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a meeting today with Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week.

Secretary Rubio underscored that Bolivia remains a critically important regional partner. The United States commends President Paz’s ongoing efforts to stabilize Bolivia’s economy, including engagement with the IMF, expanded multilateral bank financing, and reforms in the fuel, mining, and energy sectors aimed at bolstering the country’s investment climate.

Secretary Rubio and President Paz also addressed regional security cooperation, particularly counter-narcoterrorism efforts, and reaffirmed support for Bolivia’s continued political stability. Both leaders stressed that the United States and Bolivia will persist in delivering tangible outcomes for their citizens, advancing shared goals of safety, strength, and prosperity.
