Jaxson Dart Faces Potential Season-Ending Knee Injury

Following a similar scare involving Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has suffered a far more severe injury than initially anticipated.

According to NFL Network, an MRI revealed that Dart’s knee injury is worse than initially feared. He is expected to be sidelined for an extended period, potentially for the remainder of the season.

This is a significant blow to a team that demonstrated promising potential in Week 1, pushing Jameis Winston into the starting role. Winston struggled in his relief appearance on Monday night, finishing 11-of-27 with 111 yards and an interception.

With no other quarterbacks on the 53-man roster—Jake Haener is only on the practice squad—the Giants will likely need to explore all available options to fill the position, ranging from free agency to a potential trade with a team possessing a quarterback surplus.

Initial assessments suggested a mild MCL sprain, a diagnosis that coach John Harbaugh echoed on Monday night when he described the injury as being in that vicinity. However, it has now become clear that this was not the case.
