BlackBerry Limited (BB) reported second-quarter net income of $33.9 million, or $0.05 per share, up from $13.3 million, or $0.02 per share, a year earlier.
Adjusted net income climbed 79% year-over-year to $43.2 million, or $0.07 per share, compared with $24.2 million, or $0.04 per share, in the prior-year period.
Revenue rose 26% to $163.3 million from $129.6 million.
The QNX segment drove much of the upside, with revenue increasing 27% to $80.3 million and adjusted EBITDA surging 41% to $29.0 million. QNX also landed its first Alloy Kore design win — described by the company as the largest in its history — adding more than $100 million to its royalty backlog.
Secure Communications revenue grew 2% to $60.9 million, while Licensing revenue came in at $22.1 million.
Citing the strong performance, BlackBerry raised its fiscal 2027 revenue outlook to $616 million–$636 million, up from the previous range of $594 million–$621 million. Adjusted earnings per share are now projected at $0.19–$0.22, compared with the prior forecast of $0.16–$0.20.
For the third quarter, the company expects revenue of $143 million–$154 million and adjusted earnings per share of $0.04–$0.05.
