<p datatype="p" data-qa="Component-Component" class="e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1">A former police constable who was left paralyzed for twenty‑one years following an attack will be honoredly laid to rest in Hong Kong’s official cemetery, a tribute paid to public servants regarded as heroes, according to reports by the South China Morning Post.</p>
<p datatype="p" data-qa="Component-Component" class="e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1">A reliable source confirmed that Jacky Chu Chun‑kwok, who passed away earlier this month, will receive a burial in Gallant Garden on 23 October as part of a police honors ceremony.</p>
<p datatype="p" data-qa="Component-Component" class="e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1">Chu served as a member of the Police Tactical Unit and will be awarded the highest recognitions for the funeral, which will feature a Taoist rite together with Chinese‑style marching drill.</p>
<p datatype="p" data-qa="Component-Component" class="e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1">He suffered critical injuries during a solo patrol on the morning of 19 July 2005 when a man stabbed him in the neck with a six‑inch knife.</p>
