Five housing unions broke through security at the Social Housing Agency (AVS) headquarters, launching a sit‑in protest. The activists demanded a formal negotiating forum with the authorities to address eviction cases, debt issues, and contested housing situations.
As police arrived, the protesters chanted slogans advocating for secure housing and collective negotiations.
Officers eventually escorted the demonstrators out, verifying their identities before they departed.
The demonstration is the latest in a wave of protests sparked by the eviction of an 87‑year‑old woman from her Madrid residence last week.
