Reports indicate Miliband will speak to pro‑Palestinian campaigns and fellow Labour members, asserting that the party’s previous response has been inadequate and that Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s government intends to adopt firmer action.

He is expected to tell campaigners to listen and trust that the movement reflects genuine concern: “We hear you, you’re right, and we are standing side with you” The Guardian anticipates.

According to the report, Miliband plans to shift the party’s direction, “changing the status quo,” while drawing on the fundamental lessons learned from Israel and Palestine.

He will also highlight Labour’s commitment to progressive values as the basis for his anticipated achievements, according to The Guardian.

“The bonds of solidarity between the British people and those who seek peace in Israel and Palestine are too strong to be broken,” he is said to say. “Under Andy’s leadership, we have reset our approach,” he adds.

The secretary’s remarks are slated to come shortly after Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s address to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, where the UK government condemned Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank’s E1 area.

Burnham announced that the United Kingdom has banned trade in goods produced in illegal settlements, upholds that the Israeli occupation is unlawful, and pledges to curtail involvement by anyone supporting illicit building projects, aiming to bring an end to suffering.
