The UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship will be awarded at UFC 332 when Natália Silva meets Wang Cong in Salt Lake City. The fight takes place on the main card of a numbered event coming just two weeks after UFC 331.
Silva was originally scheduled to defend a spot on the top of the flyweight division by facing champion Valentina Shevchenko, but Shevchenko withdrew from the bout because of a back and shoulder injury and vacated the title. That created a title fight opportunity for Silva and Wang.
At a Glance: UFC 332 Viewing Details
- Stream: Paramount+
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 3
- Start time: 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT
Silva has been competing professionally since 2015 and enters the bout with a 20-5 record. She has won her last 14 fights, and her most recent loss dates back to 2017. The Brazilian fighter began her martial arts background in taekwondo, so she is expected to continue leaning on fast, sharp striking against Wang.
Wang is not at the same level of experience as Shevchenko, but she remains a dangerous challenger. A kickboxer by background, she has built a 10-1 record since beginning her professional MMA career four years ago. Her striking could keep the fight on the feet, but if she is able to land a takedown, the result becomes much harder to predict.
For fans who cannot attend the event in Salt Lake City, the full card will be available to watch online.
