Brie Bella recently provided the latest update on her recovery from a shoulder injury sustained during a six-woman tag team match at WWE SummerSlam 2023. Opting against surgery, Bella was initially projected to remain sidelined for three to six months. During her appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show, she discussed her ongoing rehabilitation journey and tentative timeline for returning to in-ring competition.
While progressing in her recovery, Bella emphasized that bone fusion in her scapula is still incomplete, limiting her ability to perform desired exercises. She revealed experiencing muscle spasms and sharp pains, particularly when lifting objects heavier than five pounds. Currently engaged in physical therapy three times weekly, Bella is focusing on strengthening surrounding muscles but acknowledged her ring return remains distant.
Recovery Progress and Physical Limitations
“Just received a CT scan — it’s been sent to WWE. I’m feeling stronger than before, but my bones haven’t fully fused yet. There are moments when I’ll attempt simple tasks like closing a window, and intense spasms or sharp pains hit me unexpectedly. I’m very mindful about not lifting anything over five pounds. Right now, I’m in physical therapy three days a week doing foundational exercises to build strength around the scapula.”
In-Ring Comeback Timeline
“My days back in the ring are definitely still far off, and I’m not one to rush things.”
