Following the finalized merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is anticipated to come under the direction of new sports executive leadership.
According to Variety, David Berson is poised to lead Skydance Sports, a division expected to incorporate AEW into its broader sports portfolio. The promotion previously operated under the TNT Sports banner within Warner Bros. Discovery.
This transition coincides with the scheduled departure of Luis Silberwasser, who has managed TNT Sports, upon the conclusion of the Paramount-WBD merger.
Silberwasser confirmed his exit in a memo to employees, voicing support for the incoming leadership and the future trajectory of the sports division.
“I have tremendous respect for our leadership and for the leaders of CBS Sports, who are great colleagues and friends,” Silberwasser said. “I fully support the decision and will do everything I can to be of assistance during the transition.”
Silberwasser further emphasized confidence in the personnel remaining with the organization post-transition.
“I believe in the strategy ahead and, above all, in the people who will carry this work forward,” he continued. “The success of this organization has always been about the talent, commitment and character of its people, and I know those qualities will continue to define it in the years ahead.”
The organizational shift occurs as the Paramount-WBD merger is scheduled to formally close on Tuesday, October 6.
