Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev has strongly condemned a drone assault on two commercial vessels in the Black Sea, calling the strike “a flagrant violation of maritime law” after one ship sank.
“This attack within the Bulgarian exclusive economic zone is absolutely unacceptable,” Radev declared at the start of an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
Sea and aerial drones struck the vessels at approximately 3:00 a.m. local time (01:00 CET), roughly 70 nautical miles east of the town of Byala, according to the prime minister. He did not identify the suspected perpetrator.
