The Browns announced Tuesday that they have opened the return-to-practice window for quarterback Dillon Gabriel and defensive tackle Kalia Davis.
Both players have 21 days to participate in practice before the club must determine whether to activate them back onto the 53-player active roster. Cleveland is permitted to activate either player at any point during that window.
Gabriel was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 30 after sustaining a back injury during the Browns’ final preseason contest.
The quarterback room already includes Deshaun Watson, Shadeur Sanders and Taylen Green.
Davis hurt his quadriceps during a training camp practice.
The Browns also signed wide receiver James Proche II and defensive tackle Chris Williams to their practice squad, while releasing running back Eric Gray, punter Wes Pahl and offensive tackle Xavier Truss.
