Derek Chisora says there is only one fighter he believes could knock out Oleksandr Usyk within five rounds.
Having relinquished his unified heavyweight titles earlier this year, Usyk has indicated he intends to fight one final time before walking away from the sport.
A number of opponents have been linked to his final bout, including former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
Along with Tyson Fury, Chisora is the only other boxer who has faced both Usyk and Wilder. He lost to Usyk by unanimous decision in 2020 and suffered a split‑decision defeat to Wilder (‘The Bronze Bomber’) last April.
Because of his experience against both fighters, Chisora is arguably best placed to forecast a potential Usyk‑Wilder showdown. In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, he tipped ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to land a knockout early in the contest.
“I put my money on Wilder to knock him out. Usyk is going to get laid out because that motherf***er can hit. Usyk is going to get laid out and I will give it five rounds. Five rounds he will be on the floor.”
Any chance of the bout materialising now appears slim, after reports that negotiations have broken down.
Wilder is instead reportedly negotiating a heavyweight clash with unbeaten cruiserweight Jai Opetaia on the undercard of the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua card in December.
That leaves Usyk to seek another opponent for his farewell fight, which is expected to occur in early 2027.
