At least four fatalities have been confirmed following Hurricane Isaias’ early Saturday landfall, while approximately 670,000 residents across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi remained without electricity as the system weakened into a post-tropical cyclone.
Local authorities and media reports indicate that two of the deaths occurred when trees fell onto residential homes.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated that no search-and-rescue requests were received shortly after landfall, signaling a relatively limited immediate impact.
However, the National Hurricane Center warned that hazardous conditions persisted, forecasting storm surges, flash flooding, damaging winds, and a risk of tornadoes across parts of the southeastern United States.
