Manchester United manager Michael Carrick heaped praise on Bryan Mbeumo following the 1-1 Premier League stalemate against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils saw their winless run in the league extend to four matches after the draw, with Mbeumo opening the scoring through a fine strike that ultimately proved insufficient to secure a victory.
A defensive lapse from Lisandro Martinez cleared the path for Dominic Solanke to score a stoppage-time equaliser for Tottenham, who had been reduced to 10 men since the 78th minute.
Following the match, Carrick spoke warmly of Mbeumo; he said: “We know that Bryan [Mbeumo] has excellent qualities. He has played in different positions with us. A very good finish from him.”
Mbeumo has maintained a superb record against Tottenham over the years, netting his seventh goal against the side at Old Trafford.
United have no time to dwell on the result, as they prepare for a challenging Champions League away trip to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
