Supermodel Gigi Hadid is deepening her commitment to denim through a new partnership with Italian fashion house Liu Jo, unveiling “The Gigi Hadid Edit” — a curated selection anchored by the perennial fabric. The announcement arrives on the heels of a pronounced denim resurgence at Paris Fashion Week, where leading houses reimagined the material for the Spring/Summer 2027 season, and one month after Hadid’s own label, Guest in Residence, launched its inaugural denim line.
Founded on a reputation for cashmere essentials, Guest in Residence debuted its Fall 2026 denim collection last September, marking the brand’s first expansion beyond knitwear. Developed in collaboration with U.S. denim specialist Benjamin Talley Smith — whose resume includes Khaite, Madewell, and Rag & Bone — the range introduces four distinct silhouettes: the high-waisted wide-leg Traveler; the relaxed straight-leg Everyday; the tapered, raw-hem Weekender; and the carpenter-inspired Workday. “Denim has always been at the heart of how I dress — it’s what I live in alongside cashmere; that combination has become my uniform,” Hadid stated in August.
The high-fashion embrace of denim was unmistakable in Paris. Acne Studios experimented with glossy, plastic-like coatings, while Matieres Fecales adopted croc-embossed finishes and exaggerated fraying. Alainpaul introduced metallic silver treatments, and Balenciaga presented wide-leg jeans featuring twisted seams and distressed detailing. Miu Miu, meanwhile, revisited vintage codes through an upcoming collaboration with heritage label Wrangler, incorporating lace-up waistbands into its designs.
Market analysts underscore the commercial momentum behind the trend. The U.S. denim market is projected to grow 2% annually over the next five years, according to UBS, driven by the continued relaxation of workplace dress codes. The investment bank further identified the Middle East and Africa as the fastest-growing region for denim sales over the past five to fifteen years, per a June 2025 WWD report.
Hadid’s Liu Jo edit — crafted by the Carpi, Italy-based label founded in 1995 — leans into structured outerwear. Overshirts, bomber jackets, and Napoleon-style jackets balance relaxed proportions with a polished sensibility. Digital prints recast denim as a graphic canvas, while embellishments add a decorative flourish to pieces designed with a deliberately lived-in aesthetic. Leather cowboy boots detailed with tonal stitching complete the offering.
