The Chiefs had their bye this week, meaning they’ve only played four games. However, Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker has already accumulated more rushing yards this season than the Seahawks managed in five games.
Through four games, Walker has carried 87 times for 537 yards. In contrast, the Seahawks have 139 carries for 530 yards over five games.
Seattle’s running game struggled in Sunday’s loss to the 49ers, where Emanuel Wilson and George Holani combined for 24 carries and 68 yards, averaging just 2.8 yards per carry.
The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first round after losing Walker, but he’s currently on injured reserve with a chest injury. When healthy, Price outperformed Wilson and Holani, but he doesn’t match Walker’s impact. Price averaged 39.7 yards per game over three appearances, while Walker is leading the NFL with 134.3 yards per game this season.
Walker, the Super Bowl MVP from February, has been a top playmaker for the 4-0 Chiefs this season. The 3-2 Seahawks may be regretting their decision to let the Super Bowl MVP depart.
