As previously reported, AEW star and former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made a video appearance at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2026, proposing a Triple Threat Match against Oleg Boltin and Yota Tsuji for Power Struggle. Omega later attended the event in person, decisively defeating both competitors. The match is now officially confirmed for NJPW Power Struggle 2026.
A victory in this bout would grant Omega a future opportunity to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The AEW talent, a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, has not held the title since January 2019.
Also confirmed for the event are AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and his tag team partner, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Callum Newman, who will face the reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions, the Knock Out Brothers (Yuto-Ice and OSKAR).
Additionally, AEW Continental Champion and Deathriders stablemate Wheeler Yuta will compete against Unbound Co.’s Jeff Cobb and Shingo Takagi. NJPW Power Struggle 2026 is scheduled for November 3 at the Hiroshima Sun Plaza in Hiroshima, Japan. The updated card includes:
- IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship Match: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Taichi
- Triple Threat Match: Kenny Omega vs. Yota Tsuji vs. Oleg Boltin (If Omega wins, he secures a future IWGP Heavyweight Title opportunity)
- IWGP Tag Team Championship Match: Knock Out Brothers (Yuto-Ice & OSKAR) (c) vs. United Empire (Will Ospreay & Callum Newman)
- Unbound Co. (Jeff Cobb & Shingo Takagi) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta)
- Super Jr. Tag League Final: TBD vs. TBD
