RIYADH — Red Sea Film Labs, a division of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Foundation, convened a panel on October 13 to examine how cinematography shapes a film’s visual identity and reinforces its narrative. The discussion, part of the Labs’ “Inspire” series, took place during the Seoul leg of the foundation’s feature‑film showcase, coinciding with its participation in the Busan International Film Festival. Citing the Saudi Press Agency, panelists explored the collaborative dynamics between director of photography and director, emphasizing how visual imagery conveys story and character, thereby crafting each film’s unique visual language. Drawing on expertise from Korean cinematography, they highlighted notable works and explained how composition supports a film’s dramatic arc. The event underscores the Labs’ broader mission to disseminate knowledge, nurture emerging talent, and foster international collaborations. The Red Sea Film Foundation is currently present at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, where it supports ten titles — its largest contingent to date — with the festival running through Thursday.
