ADEN: Yemen’s armed forces announced on Saturday that they had executed 1,417 strikes against Iran‑backed Houthi targets within a 24‑hour window, claiming roughly 800 fighters were killed or wounded and over 190 military vehicles and other assets destroyed or disabled.
As part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, a military spokesman explained that the campaign employed combat aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, field artillery, and rocket launchers.
The strikes focused on Houthi assemblies and reinforcements, fortified positions, firing points, armored vehicles, combat equipment, and drone launch sites, the spokesman added.
These actions disrupted Houthi maneuverability and prevented the group from dispatching reserves to the front lines or achieving battlefield objectives.
On the eastern front, Yemeni troops continued to clear Houthi positions, expand their controlled territory, and secure a new tactical foothold, the spokesman noted.
Meanwhile, the armed forces and the Popular Resistance in Taiz repelled successive waves of attacks, while air strikes inflicted significant personnel and material losses on Houthi positions and supply lines.
The spokesman emphasized that all operations were confined to legitimate military targets and conducted in compliance with international humanitarian law and customary norms.
Finally, the armed forces renewed their appeal to residents in Houthi‑held areas to keep their children away from recruitment drives and warned against sending them to fight in a conflict that, they argued, does not reflect Yemen’s national interests.
