From Washington: Trump repeats warning on Iranian nuclear site
U.S. President Donald Trump has made clear that Iran’s window for reaching a deal on its nuclear program may be closing, signaling urgency in ongoing negotiations.
Trump said last week that “productive discussions” were underway and that the United States would not launch an attack on Iran before the U.S. midterm congressional elections on November 3. On Thursday, he again threatened to strike Pickaxe Mountain—a site housing a centrifuge assembly plant that may also be used for uranium enrichment—as reported by Elizabeth Hagedorn in Washington. The president also indicated that he would consider using the GBU‑43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, the largest non‑nuclear weapon in the U.S. arsenal, should further action be required, while ruling out the deployment of ground troops.
