Ilja Dragunov will make his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling this Wednesday on Dynamite.
During the AEW WrestleDream media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that Wednesday’s show will feature Dragunov’s highly anticipated in-ring debut. The bout will mark Dragunov’s first official match since April, when he competed in the Andre the Giant battle royal at WrestleMania 42.
Dragunov officially joined AEW earlier during the WrestleDream pay-per-view, where he was formally introduced as the company’s newest signing. Fans had been anticipating his arrival, with cryptic vignettes airing for several weeks, beginning with a haunting clip of a wrestler training to a metronome on the October 15 episode of Dynamite.
At the media scrum, Khan revealed that Dragunov’s visa complications were only resolved on Wednesday, prompting the decision to air his introductory vignette live during the broadcast. Once Dragunov confirmed his availability for WrestleDream, a second vignette was released on social media Friday, and AEW officially announced the mystery wrestler would debut the following day in Orlando.
During the media scrum, Khan also confirmed that Will Ospreay will be in action at the event, though specific match details remain undisclosed at this time.
