Manchester United Preparing to Target a Left-Back in the Upcoming January Transfer Window
The club explored signing a left-back during the previous summer, with Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall featuring prominently on their shortlist.
However, Newcastle declared Hall indispensable, and he has since agreed to a long‑term extension, ruling him out as a viable option for United.
Despite this setback, the Red Devils remain keen to secure a left‑back addition as early as January.
Luke Shaw started every Premier League match for United last season, but he has been sidelined by minor issues this campaign.
Patrick Dorgu has also been unavailable due to a hamstring problem and has struggled to impress when deployed on the left flank.
Consequently, United are looking for an alternative for the position this winter, and Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys has emerged as a leading candidate.
