Charley Hull Recalls Unexpected Tattoo Story from Ibiza Night
Charley Hull is among the finest players in women’s golf and is also widely regarded as one of the most engaging personalities in professional golf.
A three‑time LPGA champion, Hull is celebrated by fans for her candid nature, quirky habits, constant pranks, and unforgettable anecdotes from her career.
During a recent interview with Golfweek’s Adam Schupak, she recounted a remarkable episode from a drunken night in Ibiza when she received her first tattoo.
The incident occurred when Hull was 17; after a night of partying with her friend James, she considered getting a tattoo across her forehead. Her friend, however, advised against it, and she ended up getting the design on the top of her foot, where it reads “Hold tight.” James also received a matching tattoo on his arm.
Hull was unaware that she had been tattooed until the following morning, when a hungover James explained that the bandage on her foot was the result of the tattoo session, not a plastic bag as she had thought.
She also mentioned a second, regrettable tattoo—a name belonging to her ex‑husband on her wrist, which she is attempting to have removed. Her third tattoo, a lightning bolt that she shares with fellow English pro Georgia Hall, remains a favorite for now.
