The benchmark KSE-100 index tumbled 2,006 points on Thursday, closing at 163,924 and erasing the previous session’s gains amid intense selling pressure on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened on a positive note Thursday, with the KSE-100 climbing 250 points to reach 166,180. However, momentum quickly shifted as selling accelerated across the broader market.
By the closing bell, the index had surrendered its early advances, ending the day down 2,006 points at 163,924. The decline wiped out Wednesday’s rebound, during which the benchmark had gained 779 points to settle at 165,930.
The abrupt reversal underscored a sudden shift in investor sentiment, as the benchmark reversed course after Wednesday’s positive close.
