JERUSALEM — Israeli authorities announced Sunday a complete shutdown of all land crossings with the West Bank for Tuesday’s national election, a measure enacted after Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers in the territory.
“The political leadership has approved a ban on the entry and exit of Palestinian workers across Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, including industrial zones, as well as the closure of all land crossings for the duration of Election Day, October 27, 2026,” the Israel Defense Forces stated in a Telegram post.
