A self‑styled “world’s top autograph seeker” has apologised to Harry Styles following the viral spread of footage capturing their street encounter.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 21, while the “As It Was” vocalist was strolling through New York City, where he is currently staging a 30‑show residency at Madison Square Garden.
Viral footage reported by TMZ shows Styles being approached by a man who asked for an autograph on his newest album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” The man grew increasingly agitated, prompting Styles to halt and engage with him.

Giovanni, who labels himself the “world’s top autograph seeker” on his Instagram bio, posted an apology: “I want to clear up some of the headlines about my recent encounter with Harry Styles in NYC. Harry has always been a gentleman to me, going all the way back to 2012 when he first signed for me.”
“The truth is, I was having a bad day and I was out of line,” he added. “Harry was actually totally chill about the whole situation and even helped calm me down. The headlines suggesting Harry lost his cool couldn’t be further from the truth. If anything, I was the one who needed to cool down.”
“I take full responsibility and sincerely apologise to Harry. He’s always been cool with me, and he deserves nothing but respect.”

Styles’ 30‑show residency at Madison Square Garden began in late August and will conclude with a special “Harryween” performance at the venue on Saturday, October 31.
During the residency, Styles has spoken out in support of Oscar Belgal, the man who was shot by ICE in front of his five‑year‑old son; paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton; referenced Taylor Swift’s wedding at the arena; and honoured his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne on the second anniversary of Payne’s death.
Following the Madison Square Garden residency, Styles will perform in Melbourne and Sydney in December, then commence the final leg of his 2027 tour, visiting cities such as London, Madrid, Rome, Los Angeles, and others, with supporting acts including Kylie Minogue, LCD Soundsystem, and additional artists.
His album “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally,” released in March, received a five‑star review from NME when the tour opened in Amsterdam, where it was praised as “a hopeful celebration of community and connection.”
