Former President Donald Trump announced a $1 million reward on Monday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing voter fraud, escalating his efforts to cast doubt on electoral integrity ahead of the November midterms.
“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
The former president provided no details on how the reward would be funded or administered.
With the midterm elections just over a week away, polling indicates Democrats are gaining momentum as Republicans battle to maintain control of both congressional chambers. A Democratic victory could stall the Republican legislative agenda and open the door to congressional investigations.
Trump has repeatedly promoted unsubstantiated claims of widespread election fraud, including the assertion that he won the 2020 presidential election. Extensive research has consistently shown that voter fraud is exceedingly rare, particularly non-citizen voting, which is already a federal crime.
The announcement follows a series of extraordinary pre-election pledges. Trump recently offered $5,000 to every adult American citizen if Republicans retain both chambers—a proposal with a price tag exceeding $1 trillion that would require congressional approval. He has also linked compensation for veterans sickened by contaminated water at a North Carolina military base to a Republican electoral victory.
Separately, the Justice Department has filed suit to prevent Alaska from certifying its Senate election results if Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan loses, citing potential voter confusion over another candidate sharing the same name. Trump acknowledged personally ordering the lawsuit, though his attorney general denied the move was intended to overturn the election outcome.
