The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to trade perennial All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, signaling a definitive shift toward a roster rebuild. According to multiple reports, Seattle will send a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round selection to Indianapolis in exchange for the former sixth-overall pick.
Selected in 2018, Nelson anchored the Colts’ offensive line for seven seasons, earning first-team All-Pro honors in each of his first three campaigns. He added three second-team All-Pro nods and eight Pro Bowl selections to his resume, though he enters this season on the final year of his contract. The move comes days after Indianapolis dismissed General Manager Chris Ballard, underscasing the organization’s new direction.
For Seattle, the acquisition addresses immediate needs along the interior offensive line. The Seahawks started Gray Zabel and Anthony Bradford at guard during their Week 7 victory over Kansas City, a game in which left tackle Charles Cross exited with an ankle injury. While Cross’s timetable remains uncertain, Nelson’s arrival provides Seattle with elite flexibility and talent as the team maneuvers pieces to solidify protection for a playoff push and a bid to return to the Super Bowl.
